I found myself unexpectedly needing to be at the American/Canadian border this week to have a little chat with Immigration, so Steve and I drove up to Detroit on Friday and drove back on Saturday. Steve was actually quite pleased that we had to take the trip, because he's been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to have Cincinnati chili (check). We zipped across the border into Canada for a quick shopping trip, and Canada was COLD. Somebody claims it wasn't any colder in Canada than it was in Detroit, but I can tell you absolutely that when we got into the car in Detroit, it was cold, but when we got out of the car in Canada, it was freezing. If we ever move to Canada, I'm going to need a coat made out of polar bears.
Oh, and we stopped at the Colonel Sanders Museum in Kentucky. It's a gem.

Only Steve could combine a museum tour in quick trip to somewhere. Ask him about our 30 minute tour of Arches National Park.

I guess that's comparable to a trip from Provo to Los Angeles and back. I had to check a map to see. Because Canada always seems like a long way off to me.

It has always been a dream of mine to live in Canada. It seems a bit magical up there.
Interestingly, I stopped minding coats made out of fur when I served a mission in Ukraine. Practically, it was the warmest thing you could wear.
I got sick the summer Ed and I went to Windsor because it was so hot and humid. You need to take a trip back during a better time of the year.
I am all for dressing warm; that's how we Canadians survive. Ed doesn't leave the house without snowpants this time of year.
Yeah, I just got back from two weeks in Minnesota. Denver's "coldest winter on record" feels downright balmy since I don't need a hat and gloves just to take out the trash.
My parents say the weather keeps the riffraff out. I can only assume they mean me.
