1. Today when I walked into church, a very old, white-haired woman made her way over to me and said, "So, then, you've gone and married my boyfriend, have you?" Steve says she often gives him a hug but he was unaware that they were quite so close.

2. I really enjoy the fact that our mail actually comes to us through the post slot in our front door. I can hear when it's delivered and go scurrying to fetch it immediately.

3. Mother's Day in the UK was today. There are a million cards to "Mum" in the shops and some also say "Happy Mothering Sunday" (which is not actually the same thing). Fantastic.

4. The snowdrops and crocuses are up in a big way.

5. I drove Steve's car yesterday for the first time. It made me cry.

6. Steve has lost 10 pounds since we got married. I decidedly have not.
