The Ancient Art of Tennis

Yesterday Steve and I Alice and I took a trip to Falkland Palace, one of the residences of Mary Queen of Scots.

The grounds are beautiful

and Steve found a tiny bird unsuccessfully trying to fly in one of the bushes. It is his new best friend. Steve still can't get over the bird's teeny tiny tail feather.

The palace is home to the world's oldest tennis court. It's not very grand-looking but being 400 years old is still impressive (and I do like the tiny crowns painted on the walls).

See that? I always tell you the truth.

Steve watched the audiovisual presentation on tennis while a cartoon man who bears a certain resemblance to Hitler attempted to bludgeon him in the head.
Don't worry. He's fine.

I'm going to convince Andy to go with me to Falkland when he comes in July... it sounds amazing!

You and Steve are so oddly compatible.

What a nice weekend trip. I met someone who is you, reincarnated. I like her simply based on that fact, not to mention the lovely oddity that she is very, very concerned with making the planet a better place. I wonder if the two of you met, would you be friends, or would the world collapse?

So it wasn't incorrect in "Ever After" when the Prince plays tennis with the Marquis de la Moge (sp?). Wow. I didn't think it was really that old of a sport. That's pretty cool.
