Kilts

I attended a Scottish festival at Thanksgiving Point this weekend. Official Festival Motto: There's No Such Thing as Too Many Bagpipes.

In addition to 12,000 bagpipers, there are many Highland games at the Festival. I like the caber toss best. And there are many people who love dragons and fairies and swords. I'm glad they have somewhere to gather and spar and get away from the role-playing games for a few hours. And there are many, many kilts.

Some people look good in kilts.
I don't have any idea who this is, but the picture is in the public domain, so I stole it from Wikipedia.

And some people do not.
Men competing in the caber toss (and bringing shame to the tradition of the kilt) at the festival I attended this weekend.

I think men in kilts are deadly attractive. I think it has to do with the knobby knees peaking out between the kilt and the knee high stockings. There is something quite attractive in the vulnerability of knobby knees.

Sheepdog Championships are the first weekend in September. Yaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!

I think I'm down with the kilts, because I know the men wearing them usually have British accents.

MBC--I was thinking of you the other night. Jaren and his brother have been watching all these soccer matches. Some world cup nonsense or something. Apparently they can't find any American commentators who know a thing about soccer, so they're all Irish, Scottish, and British. So just tune in to soccer for your accent fix.

The american kilt wearers make me feel sad. Something about a t-shirt snug on the stomach...

Hmmm. Soccer. My new favorite sport.

Eliana--The sport socks make me feel sad.
