NYC : Stuff We Saw and Did and Ate and Stuff

Stuff We Saw and Did:

I am very fond of churches. We visited St. Patrick's Cathedral and Trinity Church.

This is in the grounds at Trinity. Rebekah is sitting on that bench at the back. I am taking many, many pictures of gravestones.

I love early American gravestones. I believe I've mentioned this before.

My love affair with the gravestones almost made us late for the ferry to Governor's Island. This is Rebekah photographing the Statue of Liberty on the way to the Island.

Castle Williams on Governor's Island. It served as a prison and then as a children's community center.

View of Manhattan from the Island.

Chou gave me and Rebekah a food tour of the lower east side on Monday. My favorite place was Pickle Guys. I want to open a brinery. This is Chou eating a lovely cupcake from one of the places we visited.

Most of Rebekah's favorite things from the trip involved hanging out at my brother's. We played Uno and listened to records and my brother and sister-in-law made us some very fine meals. They are nice. This is Rebekah celebrating her win in Wii bowling.

The Met was nice too.

Stuff We Ate:

Tuesday was a very tasty but unwise food day.
Pre-Breakfast (8:30 am): black and white cookie
Breakfast (10:00 am): tres leche cake, followed by some of my brother's plantains, followed by a chicken empanada, followed by some of Rebekah's plantains
Lunch (1:00 pm): clam chowder at the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station
Post-Lunch Snack (2:00 pm): black and white cookie

Black and white cookies make me happy all out of proportion to their actual tastiness.

I like anywhere that can be a prison and a children's center...our high school used to be in the prison here too. We need more multitasking.
