The Trip of Awesomeness

I told my boss about the Trip of Awesomeness (as a friend of awesomeness refers to it) today, meaning it is no longer a secret and may be discussed on the blog.

Last January I was sitting in an inn in Stratford and I opened a fortune cookie (which did not come from the inn in Stratford; it came from V, who was sitting at the end of the table and who, for some reason, always seemed to have fortune cookies to share on our London trip) and the fortune inside the fortune cookie read A change of location may be in order, and I thought to myself, Too true. Cookies never lie. And so the seeds for the Trip of Awesomeness were planted, and I started formulating plans, and now I'm quitting my job in June and traveling in Europe (and Turkey) for about four months.

Thank you, fortune cookie.

Wow.

I do not know how I could even BE more impressed or jealous. You are a rock star.

Dude. You are obviously one "who makes things happen." I am super impressed as I could never do anything like that. Any chance of getting your job back afterwards? Or do you have something else in the works? Or are you just a free spirit who will deal with that when you need to?

In any case......awesome! Is it too much to hope for updates on your experience and pictures? Because some of us less adventurous types get their thrills vicariously.

Very cool. I don't think I could ever be that brave. I just have one little question. Will you still be able to hang out with me in Wales this Oct?

Heidi - Yep!

Nemesis - Let's see how impressive it is when I get back and become a homeless, unemployed weeper.

Lady Susan - No chance of getting my job back. Our library has very few full-time positions. They're highly coveted and hard to come by. I'm free spiriting it at the moment. I'm hoping to keep updating the blog at least once every week or two while I'm away.

Stash - I will absolutely be in Wales in October with you.

I too am quite impressed. And I think you will be happy with this life decision. And we have a big, mostly empty house that is available for interesting people when they are homeless. I'm smiling lots right now. Yippee MBC!
