My brother is in town and he rented a car at the airport. The rental agency gave him a Hummer. A Hummer! I
hate Hummers. A lot. I'm torn, though. On the one hand, I'm morally opposed to Hummers and the people who drive them. On the other hand, I have a lot of boxes to move this week and a huge hummer might come in handy. Hmmm.

We could decrease the number of Hummers in the universe by having them owned only by rental agencies which would rent them exclusively to people whose relatives have a lot of boxes to move during the rental period.
Remember, we decided that Hummers have their place--with the military, in remote areas with limited or no roads and perhaps when moving. A Hummer probably gets as good of gas mileage as a truck, so you aren't harming the environment any more than if you used a truck or took multiple trips with your car.
Mom says it would be really cool to ride in a Hummer 'cuz & you'll probably never do it again, so enjoy your bit of evilness.
Drive it. It will impress you...but you don't have to admit it. I will drive my uncle's at least once when he is here for the 4th of July! It is the summer of fun, after all! :)
CSIowa--Not a bad idea, but after further investigation, there's not even as much room as you might imagine in a Hummer. It's huge without even having a trunk.
Moo--I don't know if I can enjoy it. I'll be riding in it tomorrow, but I don't know if I'll be able to look myself in the eye (in the mirror) afterward.
Alice--I sat in it today, but all I could think was how much I disapprove of everything it represents.
You do have a lot of boxes to move, and hummers do get about the same gas mileage of most other trucks. just as long as you are not planning on keeping it or driving across country in it. this reminds me of a funny piece the Rob Cordry did on the Daily Show a few years back that included a stretch hummer limo. at least you are not driving a stretch hummer limo.
We heard a song once on NPR about SOB's driving SUVs. It made me laugh. Now you're one of them!!! :) Congrats on this new phase of life.
