1. Have wacky conversations with E(6).
E(6) sat next to me on the couch and leaned over with her lips puckered.
MBC: What are you doing?
E(6): This is what I do to [little boy in her class]. I want to kiss him someday.
MBC: Why do you want to kiss him?
E(6): Aunt! Because I LOVE him.
Silly me.
2. Have wacky conversations with Tuey.
Tuey: (with his face buried in my sweater) Oh, Aunt. You smell. just. like. an aunt.
3. Have wacky conversations with my sister.
MBC: Weather.com says that it's still going to be snowing in Rock Springs tomorrow. And in Cheyenne. And in Denver.
Sister: Check Accuweather.
MBC: Why? Do they have better information?
Sister: No, but they'll tell you what you want to hear.
MBC: Oh, hmmm, yeah, it does say here that the weather should be improved tomorrow.
Sister: See? Doesn't that make you feel better?
MBC: No. I'm pretty sure weather.com is correct and there's still a terrible storm in Wyoming. I feel lied to.
Sister: Well, I feel better.
We're hoping to leave tomorrow. Cross your fingers for us.

My fingers are crossed. My family checks several different weather sites and then believes the most cautious one because we are pessimists.
Have a very safe trip and feel better!
That's fine and all if you leave tomorrow, however you haven't stopped back in at the library yet. I bet after you do that the weather will clear right up!
Those are some fun conversations. Wish I had fun people like that around to have such conversations with.
Moo--Thanks for the well wishes. After I wrote this, I found the WyDOT site and discovered that I-80 is closed, so pessimism was warranted.
Ann-Marie--You are so right. This is the problem with being sick, though. It's a great trial to go anywhere, so I don't know if I'll make it into the library before I go (promises notwithstanding). I have my ticket to Boston, though, so I'll see you again quite soon!
Heidi--They are fun conversations. They got even better tonight at dinner when E(6) told us about her marriage plans.
If by some chance you are still here on Sunday, you are welcome to come to dinner with the Marmots!
I think you should walk around with kissing faces and see how it works for you. How did you survive without the Marmots in Europe?
HAH--We will absolutely be gone by Sunday, but thanks for the invitation!
Eliana--Oh, I missed the marmots in Europe. I especially wished they were around for the Bastille Day celebrations. I wanted little people to dance with. And it's always nice to have interesting conversationalists on the train. Even if the conversation is about whether or not wolves steal babies, a recent conversation Tuey and I had.
