The Coordinatrix is here visiting from North Carolina for the holiday. She is a good friend. She drove 12 hours to get here and she didn't kill me this evening when I got grouchy (I must be fed regularly or I will start kicking and biting people in the subway, especially if there are holiday crowds).
Tonight we went uptown to see the giant balloons being inflated for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I like the old-school balloons best--the fireman and pirate--but I was also excited about Snoopy and Kermit the Frog and the Pillsbury Dough Boy. I even managed to take pictures with my cell phone (camera is still in Scotland) but I have no idea how to get them from the phone to a useful place like my computer.
Tomorrow: stay in, watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, eat lovely foods, be grateful that I'm not braving the NYC crowds
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi. Here is your techie friend with some directions on sending a picture from your phone to a computer so you can use it...send it as a picture text to you gmail. Go to the picture in your phone and then choose options then send as picture message and then send it to your gmail account when the prompt comes up to add an address. It may cost five cents each time. I do it on occasion because it is worth it! :) Enjoy Thanksgiving in NYC. How magical to be there this time of year! :)
Thanks! I'll try that.
Happy Thanksgiving. I seem to be permanently jealous of you. First Europe now New York.
Alice--When I get to the message sending screen, I can't figure out how to send the picture to an email address. My phone only wants to let me enter numbers in the To: field. Maybe you need to send me an email with special, slow-people instructions.
Yankee Girl--Comfort yourself with the knowledge that I'm homeless and unemployed, neither of which are really enviable. I am very fortunate, though, to be having so many good experiences and opportunities this year. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
