I miss Scotland (unless I think about the mouse nest under the sink in our last flat).
I miss castles and good roads and especially BBC Radio 4. Steve and I used to lie in bed in the morning and listen to the radio and every time Alistair Darling (a politician) was mentioned, I would lament the fact that our last name is not Darling. I would really love my last name to be Darling and then it would always sound like people were saying to me, MBC, darling, have some more pudding.

I had a friend in high school with the last name Darling. I loved it, he maybe was tired of it.
We can just start calling you Darling if you want.
I miss Scotland too. We will go back for more visits but we will miss our base of operations in Dundee. Yes we would welcome your companionship on such a journey. We will need your expertise as the Queen of Accommodations more than ever. As well the Bairn will have to visit his birth country.

Eliana--I can see how it might get old (but not for a long time!).
Breanne--But I want immigration officials to be forced to call me darling too.
KWB--We would happily join you, and it's true that the Bairn will need to visit someday.
I am astonished you think we've got good roads - you can't have done any driving in Edinburgh. But seriously you can't do without BBC4. Can't you listen via the web? http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio
Podcasts at www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts When I was a child R4 was called the Home Service - suits it don't you think?
You've got VERY good roads compared to our current area. Driving into town here involves navigating a sea of potholes, 4-way stops, roads without turn lanes, and one-way streets. And sometimes when we go to visit relatives, Steve drives us on roads that are unpaved.
I don't like driving in Edinburgh, but at least it doesn't damage my car!
