Wind & Rain

I still need to do the DC wrap-up post, but my computer's acting up, so I'll tell you about the sweet potato biscuits that will make you want to cry tomorrow. Until then, you can listen to this song, "Wind & Rain," which should do the trick for producing melancholy, being a very fine murder ballad. If you can get your hands on the Songcatcher soundtrack, you can hear a better rendition performed by Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, and David Steele. Listen to it long enough, and the lyric "he made a fiddle peg of her long finger bone" will make you weep. And if that doesn't break you, you can consider the fact that the high in my city was 14 degrees today and you can grieve for me. And if that doesn't produce tears, you're just mean and cold-hearted.

MBC, can you send me the recipe or tell me where you got it? For some reason I have been cooking a lot with sweet potatoes lately and have yet to go wrong with a recipe.

Loved it--was first introduced to this music by Sheila Kay Adams and then the Songcatcher movie (which Sheila Kay Adams helped out on). I love the pronuciations used.

Also, I'm extremely jealous of you and Michael.
