My first (wildly successful) attempt at Toad in the Hole. I have no basis of comparison, but Steve says it's the best he's ever had. The shallot/balsamic vinegar gravy really zips it up.
Wow. I've never seen one so big. Or involved. My recipe was so a Kindergartner could make it, so it's not quite on the best thing ever side. I think this looks great! Good job!
I think I first heard of T-i/t-H while reading "Danny the Champion of the World" by Roald Dahl to the Marmots. It didn't sound good then. It doesn't look much better in this photo. (But I'll trust you that it was delish ... as was the Boozy Meat Pie. Sarah and I consumed that yesterday afternoon. I must say, it kept well on the shelf ... in the can, that is) ... MarmDad
Becky--It is VERY convenient and turns out lovely food.
Mom--Very similar.
Heidi--Really? I'm not sure how you would make a smaller one. You should try it again. It's good!
MarmDad--Oh, glad you enjoyed some boozy pie. I'm not a huge fan of the meat pies, but they are traditional. T-i/t-H, on the other hand, is a delight (as long as you use good sausages and add rosemary to the batter and make the good gravy).
SCS--I'm trying to ease you into my Britishisms, so you don't make fun of me for putting on British airs.

Do you LOVE the Remoska?? The Remoska is amazing. I'm quite pleased with mine. :-)
Sounds like hootenanny with sausages instead of apples. Yum. Mom

You should have said you "had a go" at making TitH, since you're on That Side of the Atlantic now.
