As promised, here is a picture of the allotment fence. In this photo, the paint simply looks cheerful. In reality it is quite shocking.
The following items have recently been planted at the allotment: lettuce, parsnips, beets, brussels sprouts, 6 types of winter squash, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and the leg of a plastic action figure that I found and decided should have a decent burial befitting his station.

Today for our Sunday walk, we visited the local necropolis.

It's on a street lined with pretty trees.

And it's close to the park that houses this Victorian pavilion built in the 1860s.
Tonight the park was full of cricket players and hooligans being picked up by the CCTV roaming van.

Reasons for no fear of vandals behind that fence. 1) any witness can easily identify which fence for which allotment. 2) Who would steal from Santa Claus. After all it must be his fence with his signature colour. :)

Cheers it looks great. KWB
