Working Girl (I Hope)

Now that I am back in Scotland with a fully functional visa, I'm legal to get a job, which is great. Except that I hate job hunting. And starting new things makes me nervous. Even going to water aerobics by myself for the first time required a little therapy session with Steve beforehand. What if I can't find the class? What if someone tries to talk to me? What if there are sporty people in my class instead of nice, overweight grandmas? And I don't understand everything on the job applications here. I'm always running to the Internet to sort out what O levels are and if the European Computer Driving License involves a car. (It doesn't.) AND will anyone give me a job when I confess that I can't understand Scottish people on the telephone and will therefore only be able to make calls to English and Welsh people in the UK?

However, on a positive note, just about any job I get here starts with 24 days of vacation. 24 DAYS. North America, you should really get on that.

This seems scary to me. Good luck with your A levels and jobs and everything else.

America can't afford to go on vacation anymore. America spent all it's money (remember money = time and time = money) on real estate, with no way to pay for it. So vacations are just history for us. It's time to work in America. (MarmDad)

I suppose I meant to say, "In America, it's time to work." (MarmDad)

Wow 24 days off ? That's awesome.

I absolutely hate the job search, and it seems it's ALL I ever do! EVER. Boooo!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
