Sometimes We DON'T Drive on the Left

Steve believes I should drive more. He believes I will feel more independent if I feel more comfortable with the car. I believe that the car is not my friend in any country of the world. Anyhow, I finally agreed that I would take the car to work yesterday. It's about a 40 minute drive to the bookshop and I spent the morning wringing my hands about the fact that I would have to drive through all those roundabouts and that I might misread a road sign and that someone might honk at me and that I might forget who has priority on the narrow streets and that I do not like to drive. So Steve came with me. His main jobs were to (1) devise systems to keep the sun out of my eyes as it was setting and blinding me (2) to sing cheerful songs about how roundabouts are our friends and reduce high-speed accidents and (3) to say, "Ah! Ah! Ah!" while pointing until I realized that I was driving on the right instead of the left after leaving a one-way street.

I went to work for four hours and I thought Steve was going to spend the evening in the library, but when I met him afterwards his hands and face were cold and I discovered that he didn't know where the library was, so he spent the evening driving the car around the car park and buying Fru Grains (no seriously, read about the Fru Grains) at a local market and being cold. I'd feel bad about his miserable evening except that he's so in love with the Fru Grains that it was probably worth it for him.

The Fru Grains neither look nor sound appealing, so I think Steve is just a really nice man.

They remind me of "Fibre Buddies".

Reminds me of his favorite cereal at Nanie and Grandad's, "Fruit and Fiber" which his Grandad called "Fruit and Fire" as in ready, aim, fire, referring to its aftermath on the body for so much fiber at one time.
As waiting in the cold for our spouses, that's what loving husbands do.

The Fru Grains are surprisingly delicious. I'm purchasing more tonight.
