1. We've been going to the leisure center. Steve swims with the elderly and I use the fitness studio with the elderly. Monday I also used one of the wacky, passive exercise machines. I selected the (so-called) thigh trimmer, which is like a bed you lie on with each leg on a pad that moves slowly out and then back. You can set it for different speeds and there's a big, red, emergency stop button (in case your legs start flying in and out too quickly?). The old women love these machines. They make me feel conspicuous and underwhelmed, but I'm going to keep trying them because the (so-called) waist trimmer looks like it might give me a good back rub.

2. I checked out a book about Scotland's Munros from the library. The sun has come out and the snow has all melted, so soon we will be able to plan a hiking trip.
3. I attempted to make peshwari naan last weekend. It was a failure. My dough never rose, which was not surprising to me because the recipe does not call for yeast. The author seems to think it should rise anyway. I will try again next week.
4. I do not have a new job yet.

You do realize that these machines are intended for people who have next to no use of their limbs...
Entreprexplorer--Hmmm, looks interesting.
Meg--That would explain a lot. The elderly people at the leisure center are really quite active. They row on the rowing machines FOREVER before using the toning tables. I can see how the tables would be super useful for less active people, though.
I'VE SEEN THOSE MACHINES BEFORE! On an episode of Wife Swap (I know, I would have sworn I hadn't ever watched it either). I thought they were pretend. Maybe I've found a way to jiggle my way to slimdom.
