Rejoice with Us

Yesterday Steve submitted his thesis (which we would call a dissertation in the US).  Now there's no more PhD work for him until his viva (which we  would call his defense in the US) next month.

Monday I submitted my immimgration papers.  Last week I finally received my police clearance after an 8 month faff (which we would call a gigantic, annoying, complicated mess in the US) with the fingerprints.

Yay!

Steve with the 6 required copies of his thesis right before binding.  (That moose on his calendar looks distressed, eh?)

We barely know what to do with ourselves without these two giant projects hanging over us.

Yay!

I zoomed in on the photo so I could check out the title page, because I am a huge nerd. (Did I tell you I'm doing all of the thesis/dissertation cataloging for my library, now?)

That leaves more time for pies. :)

Sounds like a good time to have a baby...It makes me sad that the fingerprint project was on par with the thesis project.

Hooray for your side, hooray for your side. Very glad to know you have no criminal past, at least one the FBI know of. After all there was that black market book scheme :)

PS It's actually an elk on the calendar. Just thought I would note that before Marmdad did.

Perhaps its just a very strange looking, perhaps even deformed moose? Congrats to all! And funny to know that Katya zoomed in on the title while KWB zoomed in on the "moose"!(MarmDad)

I didn't think it was a moose either.

Thanks, everyone!

Actually, the calendar says that the "moose" is a red deer (cervus elaphus). I'm still happy to call it a moose. Maybe Steve will have to be in charge of teaching our children the names of animals.

FYI, it's a Red deed (Cervus elaphus) as featured in the 2011 Wildlife of Britain calendar.
