Emily was Wearing a Purple Gown from Cape Verde When We Met

Today while on the reference desk, a girl approached the desk and suddenly lit up with recognition and started asking me how I was doing. I reciprocated by perking up and pretending to recall who she was, but I couldn't immediately come up with how I knew her or what her name was. This never happens. I remember everyone and everything. I can tell you what individuals were wearing on the day I met them and what we talked about and all kinds of information that no one else remembers. It's actually a great hardship, because I'm always meeting people and having the Who are you? What do you do? conversation and then we run into each other again a few weeks later and the other person doesn't remember what we talked about and we have these conversations again. Except this time around, I come across really rude (I may the first time too) because I answer all the questions I'm asked but I don't ask the same questions back. Because I already know all the answers. Because we already had this conversation. I'm not rude, I'm just above average at remembering. Until now. I do not like the prospect of losing one of my super powers.

Maybe SHE was mistaken and you have never met her before. People always think they have met my sister when they haven't met her. One time we were in Kansas filling up with gas on our way across the country and this man came over to Marisa and said, "How are you doing Mary? It's been a long time!" He asked her about her family and she just stared at him and he said, "Mary? Um... you're not Mary?" And Marisa said, "Nope." and he said, "Well you have a twin out there who looks just like you!" So maybe you have a twin too. You never know.

Yeah, I always run into people who think I'm somebody's sister (which I am, just not the somebodies they know) or an old friend from somewhere. It's hard to convince people you're not who they think you are.

I'm so honored to be in your title. I'm glad that meeting me was a memorable experience!

Annie--That has happened to me too, but this time I really did know the girl, I just didn't remember her (even though it's only been about 3 months since I last saw her). It came back to me after I talked to her for a couple of minutes.

E--Meeting you was a memorable experience. You offered me bread.

Amy--You were wearing a pink shirt and sweat pants because you were already in for the night. I was at your apartment because I had been at a new freshman function with Aurelia.
