It's a . . .

There's a baby in there.

Wednesday we visited the hospital for my 20-week scan.  We saw our very wiggly baby and asked to know the sex if possible.  I don't know if this is true everywhere, but here the professionals seem very reluctant to give out information about the baby's sex.  There was a big long warning beforehand about how they could never be 100% positive until the baby was born (a warning repeated in all the printed information we've ever received) and that they weren't promising or guaranteeing anything but that the baby appears to be a boy.  I didn't see anything phallic-looking, but the kid spent about half his time with his feet thrown over his head and his tiny hands clasped behind his knees, so I imagine he was giving the scanner a pretty good view.

I was so sure this baby was a girl, but I'm fine with a boy as long as he's a really good one like Tuey.

Can't wait to find out the end result. Grammie is delighted her bet was on a boy. If he is anything like Steve he'll be a great baby.

Congratulations! Yay!

Funny how they are so unwilling to let you know...

I felt like all four of mine were girls, so I was right once. And Eliana's right--boys do grow on you, even if you have to stifle the impulse to glue bows in their hair before they're old enough to protest (maybe that's just me).

You're a very cute pregnant lady.

Congratulations! I love boys, too. But I admit, I do not try to curb Aaron's obsession with pink. He claimed Mary's pink blanket and I let him do it. When I asked him what kind of underwear he wanted (I was trying to encourage potty training), he said he wanted pink underwear. I haven't bought pink underwear for him yet, but I haven't decided if that is going too far or not. . .

I agree, you are a very cute pregnant lady. And you are lucky to live with a "domestic goddess." I am so excited for you.

Yay, a boy! I wanted a girl too, but it turns out that boys are awesome. It will be great. Congratulations, so glad things are going well!

I cried when I found out that I was going to have a boy. I have had very little experience with boys, hence my apprehension. However, I would have to say that I love my little boy. He is very sweet and very un-boy like in that he doesn't want to destroy everything etc. This was a great worry of mine. Perhaps though I should wait and see. He is only 18 months and all.
